High Lifts Can Cause High Penalties
Lifts to boost your vehicle off the ground are incredibly useful for work and off-roadĀ trucks. However, this modification becoming more popular with street vehicles as well. While having that bit of extra height is useful for off-road driving and working trucks it can make your car less safe on the road. States have different laws regarding how high you can lift your car compared to the stock model, so check with your state or body shop before getting to work. You can look up “lift laws” in your state and find up-to-date information for your car type. For example, Florida and Oregon forbid lifting coupes and sedans more than 22 inches from the ground, while the limit for trucks is 26 inches. In other states, such as Indiana, you cannot lift your car more than three inches from the factory specifications.
