Japanese Style in A Compact SUV: The Nissan Xmotion

Nissan unveiled the startlingly futuristic compact SUV the Nissan Xmotion at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Nissan Xmotion (pronounced “cross motion”) carries six passengers in three rows. Nissan touts it as a fusion of Japanese traditional culture and craftsmanship and American style and functionality. The u-shaped headlights and V-motion grille aren’t the only futuristic design elements. The interior has a flat bridge (looks like a surfboard) extending from the front, between the seats, to the rear – a design concept likened to a bridge over a river. The taillight design is “inspired by Japanese woodwork,” according to the company.

The interior has more cool features. Gestures and eye movements may be used to control the displays and entertainment system, and there are seven screens in the automobile.

This stylish yet supposedly practical vehicle is not in production but perhaps one day soon…
