Though the name Genesis may not ring as many bells as the likes of Audi, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, all of that may be set to change.
A healthy dose of sport and luxury, the G70 hit a sweet spot that allowed it to best the Honda Insight, Volvo V60 and S60 to win top honor’s at this years competition.

The Genesis G70 comes packed with either a 252hp turbocharged q.0-liter inline-four or a 365hp twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6. Rear wheel drive is standard with the option for an all-wheel drive model as well.
The renaissance of Hyundai was solidified when its Kona won the prize of North American Utility of the Year. It was able to pull away from the Acura RDX and Jaguar I-Pace.

This year’s competition was decided between 54 judges. Each of these coming from a variety of publications, websites and organizations in the U.S.A. and Canada dedicated to automotive journalism.
Since 1994 the North American Car of the Year awards have been described as “the Oscars of the Automotive Industry.”
