No Longer a Prototype

The XP-819 built in 1964 by Zora Arkus-Duntov (Creator of the Corvette) was the original blueprint for a long awaited mid-engine Corvette.

The new Corvette C8 is the culmination of years of experimentation and tinkering with a concept going back to the very beginnings of the company.

2020 Chevrolet Stingray: 0-60 MPH in Under 3 Seconds

The Corvette Stingray features a 6.2-liter V8 based off the LT1 from the current C7. The new LT2 engine equipped with the  Z51 Performance Package provides a base 495 HP.

Rear wheel drive is standard as is an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Paddle shifters on the steering wheel offering some control over the process.  The Stingray has a top speed of around 190 mph and a 0-60 mph acceleration time under 3 seconds.2020 Corvette Stingray

Priced to Move

The 2020 Corvette Stingray’s pricing target has been estimated to be around $60,000. A dealership in Canada suggested a price of $70,000 Canadian which would be about $53,000 in USD.

The Stingray’s attractive performance to price point variable offers a lot of space for interested buyers. When compared to the C7’s 3.7 second 0-60mph acceleration time and 465 HP, its easy to see the value in the 2020 Corvette C8.

With higher end variants expected as this product line matures, its not unreasonable to imagine 600 – 1000 HP Corvettes in the near future. The introduction of an all-wheel drive hybrid EV Corvette with chart topping performance numbers seems to be something many people are looking forward to.
