Update: The Lamborghini Huracan Evo has been officially revealed.
A redesign of the Huracan is coming for 2020, so Lambo fans, get excited!
But don’t get too excited. The update for 2020 isn’t going to be a totally new Huracan, but it does include some long-overdue appearance changes.
Lamborghini has finally decided that after four years of going virtually untouched, it’s time to update their Huracan model.
So what exactly are they changing? Here’s what was spotted on the prototype.
Tasteful Body Changes on the Huracan
It appears that Lamborghini is borrowing a few ideas from the Performante version of the Huracan by adding some additional slats to the front grille going horizontally, adding some depth and complexity to the car’s look.
In addition, the intakes on the lower body have an additional slat bisecting the air inlets, again adding to the depth to the body and likely reducing drag.
However, perhaps the most obvious changes to the Huracan in 2020 come from the rear of the car. Just one exhaust tip each on either side of the license plate in the center of the rear – instead of two on each side lower on the rear as in previous models. This makes this car more similar to the Performante.

The rear of the car is also a bit more assertive than the traditional Spyder, but not quite as in-your-face as the Performante, adding air vents to both sides of the exhaust.
Just Don’t Expect Performance Updates
Lamborghini’s being modest with this update; its subtle visual upgrades don’t leave much to the imagination when it comes to the performance of the car. It’s doubtful Lamborghini upgraded the Spyder’s performance to compete with the Performante for 2020.
It’s more likely that Lambo is saving the majority of its upgrades for completely renovated versions of the Huracan (as well as the Aventador) sometime in the future. During these more major updates, you can expect powertrain changes under the hood as well as newer technology in the interior.

So What’s Next for the Huracan?
While it’s certainly possible that the 2020 Huracan could have a partial electric powertrain, Lambo is probably saving the electric option for a major reno post-2020. Either way, we’ll know sometime this year what the new Huracan features as well as what’s next for the Huracan!
