Toyota Racing Development (TRD) has finally released carbon fiber parts for the 2020 Supra. TRD released the images on their Facebook page and a Japanese dealer showed the kit on a Supra in its showroom.
These carbon fiber parts are designed to improve the coupe’s aerodynamics, but also its appearance. Everything else about the vehicle, including its powertrain, remain the same.
So what does this Toyota Supra TRD Performance Line include?
The front fascia is essentially redesigned to reduce downforce at high speeds and lowers the car by .55 inches. There’s also a side door piece which is designed to move the airflow to the back of the car, to a carbon fiber diffuser and spoiler.
The carbon fiber side skirts lower ride height by .16 inches while the TRD Supra’s diffuser lowers the riding height by .95 inches. While the cooling system has been left alone, it does leave room for people who want more air to install an aftermarket kit.
With 19-inch wheels—aluminum but painted black—you’ll certainly pay more for these carbon fiber aerodynamic-increasing components. A Supra forum member did a price conversion based on these parts (which are currently only available in Japan) and the total came to $23,522.
Although, as these parts aren’t yet available in the United States, you won’t have to make the decision to purchase just yet. Plus the 2020 Supra isn’t for sale just yet, so you have some time to plan your next move.
