The Aston Martin Vulcan is a two door, two seater, lightweight ultra high performance track car which was originally released at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show in Switzerland. Between June 7th and 15th, the world’s only street legal Vulcan participated in the Gumball 3000 rally race from Mykonos, Greece to Ibiza, Spain.
The Vulcan is an extremely fast high performance race car that was not built to provide the kind of creature comforts we expect in a daily driver. Mr. JWW, the lucky man who got todrive the world’s only street legal Vulcan is learned just that.
The Vulcan participating in this year’s Gumball 3000 was modified to allow it to legally drive on roads in the European Union. Normally a track-only supercar, it is definitely not typical to see a street legal car like this anywhere in the world.
One of the most noticeable mods to this Vulcan is the addition of headlights on the front fenders. Typical of any street legal car, the original was not created for long distance, night time driving. The car also includes windshield wipers and a raised front design to keep it from getting destroyed while driving on uneven road surfaces.
Under the hood, this tricked out Vulcan’s powerful V12 engine was customized to ensure it can legally fulfill emissions standards set forth by the E.U. The car also received a new exhaust which does little to reduce the tremendous noise produced when pushing its engine. It also has a different clutch, reformatted gear ratios to make it an easier car to handle in normal road driving conditions. The Gumball 3000 Vulcan also had its suspension softened to make it a better choice for such a long distance rally race.
Inside the Vulcan, the noise of the engine is ridiculously loud. This forces the driver and his co-pilot to wear aviation style headsets to be able to speak with each other. When the car is stopped, it must be turned off, or else it will overheat.

The World’s Only Street Legal Aston Martin Vulcan Driving in the 2019 Gumball 3000
This special edition Aston Martin Vulcan is outfitted with a camouflage exterior which is designed to match the British Bomber Plane known as the Avro Vulcan. In service from the late 1950’s until the mid 1980’s, the original Avro Vulcan was decked out with light blue and gray camo print accented with red and blue bullseye motifs.
Originally debuting back in 2015, the Aston Martin Vulcan has a 7.0-liter V12 engine capable of producing a gut busting 805 brake horsepower. Limited to only 24 cars, the Vulcan has always been a rare, and fairly expensive ride with prices starting over $2 million.
The Aston Martin Vulcan has been called the production car with the highest revving engine of all time. Those keeping score at home, will be happy to know a Vulcan has a redline of 12,100 RPM.

Strap-in for the 2019 Gumball 3000
Taking place between June 7th and 15th of 2019, this year’s Gumball 3000 kicked off with a star-studded two day celebration in Mykonos, Greece. “Knight Rider” and “Baywatch” star, David Hasselhoff, a long-time supporter of the rally race was in attendance to offer his support for the event.
Launched in 1999 by British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper, the Gumball 3000 has grown into an international celebration of automotive, art, and popular culture. This year’s event features high profile parties in London, Miami, Mykonos, and Ibiza in addition to other cities around the world.
The 2019 Gumball 3000 traverses through eight countries on a course between Mykonos and Ibiza. It is a unique event which tests drivers mettle Many find it particularly challenging to successfully complete the course in exotic supercars without getting arrested along the way by sometimes less than enthusiastic local police.
The event is typically limited to around 120 drivers from around the world. As the name suggests, the race covers a rally style course of 3000 miles. Each edition of the race has been held in different locals around the world.
This year’s Gumball 3000 travels from Mykonos to Thessaloniki, Porto Montenegro to Venice, Monaco to Barcelona, and finally ends in Ibiza, Spain.
