An absolute masterpiece has just hit the auction block for the second time in two years. And they say you only get one chance at true love.
For anyone looking to hook a piece of automotive history, an extremely rare 1965 Shelby Cobra has just joined the Mecum auction in Kissimmee, FL and is expected to sell for at least $1.5 million.
Why so rare? This car is the last ever 289-powered Shelby Cobra built for the public, and the second-to-last of the line built at all, with Carroll Shelby’s family choosing to keep the last model for themselves. For a beauty like this though, can you really blame them?

This maroon-hued work of art was first purchased in 1965 by A.L. Gassaway, of Long Beach. Luxuries listed in the “Class A” option package include side curtains, a top frame, chrome wire wheels, a luggage rack and a tonneau cover. High-end options of the era.
Prior to 2018, CSX2588 saw the auction block twice, once in 1993, as it was leaving California, and once 13 years later, when it received a restorative face-lift to its original color and carpets, and to get a bit of a tune up while keeping the original engine and transmission.
Any classic car connoisseur has the rare opportunity to own this landmark gem at the Kissimee auction until January 13th, 2019. You won’t want to miss out on this!
