Audi recently celebrated 25 years of its most successful car—the A4. The fifth-generation A4 is on the market now, but Audi has gone ahead and revealed some updates it’ll be making to the next generation for 2020.
Featuring a larger grille, new bumpers, and standard LED headlights, the A4 is getting a bit more muscular when you look at its side profile, although the car’s dimensions haven’t changed at all. It’s still the A4 we know and love, just with subtle changes.
Coming in six different turbocharged engines, the S4 version of the model features a 3-liter TDI—yes, this version is officially diesel.
Most of the models are automatic but some will have a manual option, and, of course, Audi features enough drivetrain and suspension choices to suit any driver. In Europe, the A4 will feature a mild-hybrid powertrain, as Audi is making an attempt to reduce its carbon emissions and enhance its fuel economy, but we’ve no word on whether these are coming to the United States.
Audi’s much-loved center console rotary bush button has been replaced with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a new dashboard. The vehicle can not only be remotely locked and unlocked and turned on and off, but can connect to a variety of information.
This includes information regarding traffic signs, parking, and even a traffic light system, where the car lets you know when the light is going to change and what speed you should be going to make the next light (and a countdown for red lights).
The new A4 will be featured in twelve different colors and three trim levels so you can customize your vehicle. No specific pricing as of now, but stay tuned.Â
