When Mercedes-AMG unveiled the GT 63 S 4MATIC+ last year, it was already the fastest, executive-class, 4-door vehicle out there. They even went to the trouble of setting up a record lap at Nurburgring.

So, naturally, the car has been enjoying a healthy amount of enthusiasm from aftermarket and tuning companies.

A couple of months ago, Performmaster launched a special edition for their 31st anniversary, pumping up the car for a 2.9-second 0-60mph sprint.

Now, Brabus has gone even further, adding more power and a number of upgrades all around the vehicle.

Brabus 800 is the most powerful 4-door car we know

The 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine gets new Brabus turbochargers with larger compressors and stronger bearings, sustaining boost up to 23.2 PSI. Software updates are handled by Brabus’ PowerXtra module auxiliary control unit, keeping the original ECU unmodified.

The result is 161 extra horsepower and 74 extra lb-ft of torque for a total of 800hp and 737 lb-ft. Yeah, that’s where the name comes from.

Brabus 800 will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds – a 0.3-second improvement over the original. Top speed is electronically limited to 196 mph.

A new stainless steel exhaust reduces backpressure and introduces electronically operated flaps inside the pipes, which alter the exhaust note, depending on whether you want to wake up the neighbors or not.

Brabus also adds a range of carbon fiber aerodynamic elements:

  • Large front splitter
  • Inserts for front bumper vents
  • New rear diffuser insert
  • Panels on either side of the rear bumper

The additions increase the aerodynamic efficiency and stabilize the car at high speeds.

When in doubt, add bigger wheels

With the Brabus 800, the company also launches its brand new wheels – Brabus Monoblock Z “Platinum Edition”. The massive 10-spoke wheels look absolutely stunning and Brabus claims their state of the art forging process ensures maximum strength and minimum weight.

The car rides on a staggered setup – 10.5×21-inch wheels wrapped in 275/35 tires at the front axle and 12×22-inch wheels with 335/25 tires at the rear. The rubber is Pirelli P-Zero.

A plug-and-play module for the air suspension lowers the ride height by 1 inch.

In combination, the lower ride, massive wheels, carbon fiber elements, and the GT 4-door’s already aggressive front end create an absolutely vicious vehicle. And, thanks to the engine upgrades, the Brabus 800 is ready to eat its competition alive.
