Pagani: A Passion to Create Greatness

In 1999, Pagani released its first car, the mid-engine, ultra limited Zonda. Despite its extreme rarity, the Zonda built a cult following.

Enthusiasts gravitated towards its innovative use of feather light materials and extreme performance potential.

By 2018, only 140 Pagani Zondas had been built, but it helped to set the stage for things to come.

“What is great about this working relationship is that we have the same attitude. We’re never satisfied with the status quo as Horacio Pagani always puts what is normally taken as proven to the test. I think that, together, we have always believed we could overcome even the most difficult challenge and attain ever-higher levels of perfection.”

– Tobias Moers, CEO Mercedes AMG

The Huayra Advanced the Zonda in Nearly Every Way

When the original Pagani Huayra was revealed at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show it immediately captured the imagination of car lovers around the world. The stunning hypercar was named Huayra after the Incan god of wind, Huayra-tata. It featured a 6.0-liter twin-turbo M158 V12 engine from Mercedes-AMG producing 720 HP and 740 lb⋅ft of torque.

The Huayra’s body was made from carbotanium. Pagani found that the combination of carbon fiber and titanium produced a vehicle that was both lighter and stronger than anything they had ever tested before.

The Huayra had been completely redesigned, but shared many exterior details with the Zonda which had become so influential. With a 0–60 mph acceleration of 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 235 mph, the Huayra was as stunning a performer as it was a gorgeous car to look at.

Birth of the Pagani Huayra BC Roadster

The all new Pagani Huayra BC Roadster is the latest variant of the Huayra. The company last released a coupe version in 2016. This version features a removable roof with a more aggressive and powerful engine configuration. The Huayra got the BC name to celebrate Benny Caiola, a Ferrari collector who became the company’s first customer.

Designed with extreme performance in mind, the Huayra BC Roadster, like its predecessors features the evolution of aerodynamic design features. 1,102 lbs of downforce is generated by this mind bending hypercar when it reaches speeds upwards of 174 mph.

Like all the other variants of the Huayra, the BC Roadster features a Mercedes-AMG-sourced M158 twin-turbo V12. However, thanks to Pagani modifications the engine is now capable of producing 802 HP, an increase over its original 750 HP.

Limited to just 40 models, the Pagani Huayra BC Roadster is destined to be another extremely rare ride. That being said, those with interest and the funds to support buying a car priced near $3.5 million are encouraged to state their interest. Pagani claims that despite the fact that this variant is three times the price of the original Huayra, interest is sufficient enough that it will easily sell its production run.
