Rimac CEO – Mate Rimac takes us on a journey in the factory near Zagreb, Croatia.
With over 500 employees and an ever increasing demand for their products, Rimac is constantly outgrowing its facilities and production capabilities.
Now, Rimac is gearing up for a move to a new purpose-built facility where they will begin mass manufacturing of their products. Mate Rimac takes this last chance to show us around the building where his dreams became a reality.
In the style of Christian von Koenigsegg, he proudly presents the technology and engineering processes used in building their electric hypercars.
We get to see the production and assembly of numerous Concept One and Concept Two parts – powertrains, electronics, welded steel chassis, CNC-milled aluminum parts, carbon-fiber tooling.
And this is just the 1st out of 4 total episodes in the Rimac factory. We’re yet to see the full extent of operations that go on to create the world’s most powerful production car.
With its 1,900 horsepower, delivered by four electric motors, Rimac Concept Two throws shade over big names like Buggati and Koenigsegg. It’s designed and produced entirely in house.
It’s amazing to think that in less than 10 years, a garage project evolved into the world’s most prominent manufacturer and supplier of high voltage systems and hybrid components.
Rimac Automobili produces battery systems for the Koenigsegg Regera and the KERS module for the Aston Martin Valkyrie. Rimac parts are also used by Jaguar, Porsche, Hyundai.
The company practically put Croatia on the map of high-performance vehicles, quickly closing the gap to century-old car makers.
