We’ve written about how Ferrari would bring its P80/C to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK—now, we’re finally seeing this car in all its glory.
It’s been four years since Ferrari began production of this particular car. Using a 488 GT3 racecar as a model for the development of this one-off, Ferrari’s team was able to deliver a beautiful car with crazy performance. It’s not surprising, then, that the P80/C isn’t exactly street legal.
The video uploaded from Goodwood Festival of Speed lets us see this one-off Ferrari in action, on an uphill course that’s just over a mile long. This Ferrari was designed to completely enhance aerodynamics, and the video shows this car has no problem handling the road’s curves and hill climb.
With its carbon fiber body, rear diffuser, and uniquely-shaped exterior, airflow is reduced and downforce is increased. The car is widest at its front axle, narrows a bit in the middle, then broadens again in the rear.
You’ll also remember the car has no lights—well, it does, but they’re a far cry from your standard headlights. Then again, the P80/C doesn’t really need them in the daytime on the track; this is a pure racecar.
No specific information about the engine, but we suspect it’s the same one found in the 488 GT3, which happens to be a 3.9-liter twin turbo V8 that puts out about 660 horsepower.
While the P80/C comes with 18-inch wheels, an exhibition option allows you to add 21-inch wheels and remove the massive T-wing on the back.
Although to be perfectly honest, who would want to do that?
