Gas Monkey Garage Recreates Iconic Bullitt Scene on Fast N’ Loud

Fast N' Loud follows the activities of Dallas, Texas based Gas Monkey Garage

Fast N’ Loud is a reality show which follows Richard Rawlings’ Gas Monkey Garage as they build epic cars. To celebrate their 15th season, the crew at GMG decided to recreate a 1968 Ford Mustang and the scene from Bullitt which made it famous.

To pull it off, the Gas Monkey Garage enlisted famed drift racer Chris Forsberg. Though the original movie featured actor Steve McQueen chasing a Dodger Charger, in the recreation they swapped in a black Dodge Challenger. The effect is pretty amazing: new and old American sports cars taking to the skies over San Francisco, California.

To add extra bonus points for authenticity, the recreated Bullitt scene featured in Fast N’ Loud also features an appearance by a Volkswagen Beetle and even a quick cameo by McQueen’s son Chad.

Known as one of the coolest car scenes of all time, as well as one of the most iconic and expensive movie cars ever, its easy to understand why the guys at Grease Monkey Garage decided to work with Bullitt’s 1968 Ford Mustang.

In 2016, Fast N’ Loud was cited by the New York Times survey analyzing the T.V. shows as the most liked on Facebook as “the show most favored by men”. They found that 83% of the people who had liked the show identified as masculine.
