The Koenigsegg Jesko is set to be one of the wildest cars ever produced. Dubbed by its creators as a “megacar,” the 1,600 brake horsepower Jesko’s 5-liter twin-turbo V8 requires a massive one megawatt of power to run.
If the term “megacar” sounds just a bit outlandish to you, founder Christian Koenigsegg had a pretty good reasoning behind it. Any car with over 700 hp is a “supercar.” Anything over 1000 hp is comfortably a “hypercar.” By Koenigsegg’s logic, the addition of the “mega” prefix is the natural evolution of automotive technology.

The Koenigsegg Jesko Megacar is Ridiculous
Priced at over $2.8 million, the Jesko is loaded with innovative gadgets. One of the most mind-boggling is the world’s first gyroscopic instrument cluster which is mounted on the steering wheel of the Jesko.
The idea is simple: if you want to drive at 300mph, it is essential that you can read your instrument cluster at all times. The Jesko solves this by featuring a digital display that always stays upright and readable, even as the steering wheel it is mounted on turns.
This innovative design allows driver’s behind the wheel of the Jesko to easily read the instrument cluster regardless of what kinds of spine tingling corners are being navigated.
The gyroscopic instrument cluster features a speedometer, tachometer, and power meter. It also includes icons which display engine coolant temperature and fuel level. The steering wheel display also includes small touch screens which can be used to adjust the stereo system, complete calls over Bluetooth, and control an active-lift suspension system.
When You Drive at 300 mph, Every Gadget Helps
With only a limited run of 125 Koenigsegg Jesko Megacars set to go into production, this will definitely be a rare sight on any street. Nonetheless, the Jesko Megacar is a thrilling car to see come to life.
As the super, hyper, mega car wars begin to heat up, it’s an exciting time to be an automobile fanatic.
