Lamborghini Working on a Limited-Edition Hybrid-Electric V12 in 2019

What’s the supercar of the next millennium? If you ask Lamborghini, they’ll tell you it’s all electric.

A couple of years ago, everybody would have laughed at such a claim about the company famous for its screaming, very much internally combusting V12 engines.

There is just nothing to compete with the instant torque provided by an electric motor. After suffering humiliating defeat on the drag strip by Teslas left and right, the question about an electric or hybrid Lamborghini becomes a “When?” and not a “Will?”.

With the introduction of the Terzo Millennio – the all electric Lamborghini supercar, there is no doubt that company is looking at electrification going forward.

But while the Terzo Millennio is a fancy manifesto for the future and technology demonstration, there is a real production hybrid vehicle coming out in 2019.

Yes, a limited-edition, hybrid-electric V12 Lamborghini will probe the market sometime next year.

The vehicle is code named LB48H and all we know for sure is that its naturally aspirated V12 engine will be assisted by an electric motor, or motors.

Reportedly, LB48H will be used as stepping stone to test whether the market is ready to accept a hybrid or an all electric Lamborghini. The vehicle will validate the company’s strategy for the next flagship Lambo which will replace the Aventador and Huracan in 2020.

There is a lot of secrecy still surrounding the new hybrid supercar, which is understandable, since Lamborghini is taking a huge step into new territories and puting 55 years of impeccable reputation on the line.

The Terzo Millennio concept showcased some truly futuristic technology, like wheel mounted electric motors, supercapacitors in place of lithium-ion batteries and energy-storing, self-healing carbon-fiber body.

And while, we won’t see any crazy morphing carbon fiber onto the LB48H model, we’ll just have to wait and see how much of the Terzo Millennio actually crosses over. Rumors have it it will glow in the dark.

Glowing Lambo?? ??? ______________________________________ The Aventador successor is coming and reportedly will be absolutely INSANE! The upcoming LB48H hypercar, which will cost $3million, will preview the powertrain and design of the next Aventador. But the most shocking piece of news is that apparently Lambo engineers really really want the LB48H to glow in the dark…no this isn’t a joke. ?This new beast will pack a version of the 6.5L V12 paired with a electric powertrain making around 838HP and e-AWD as the front axel will be driven by an electric motor like the Aventador successor? The LB48H (Unico) may use the new super capacitor tech Lambo has been working on as they can charge and disperse energy much quicker than batteries without wear but they have poor energy density but Lambo is working with MIT on fixing this. The LB48H will be super limited production as just 63 will be made and all are sold out. _______________________________________ EXTRA: Lambo is about to kill every competitor. ________________________________________ – – #Lambo #Lamborghini #V12 #Glowing #Italy #italian #Lamborghini #hybrid #LB48H #aventador #carbon ||#powerful #performance #turbocharged #supercharged #advanced #SupercarsRevamped #Supercar #HyperCar #ItsWhiteNoise #CarLifeStyle #MadWhips #CupGang #Carstagram #BlackList #AmazingCars247 An #allcarnews post
