Update: The two tickets were auctioned for $15,200 – all proceeds going to the National Corvette Museum.

The National Corvette Museum, located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is auctioning off two tickets to the reveal of the next-generation Corvette, the C8.

General Motors (GM) gave the museum tickets to the museum for the mid-engine C8 reveal activities, taking place July 18 and 19 in Orange County, California.

The C8 reveal will be held on Thursday evening, July 18. On July 19, GM will host a reveal “expo”, where attendees can see the car up close, talk to people on their team, and more.

The auction is for two tickets which admit two people to the event and includes:

  • Overnight accommodations for July 18 and 19
  • Access to both days of reveal activities
  • A group lunch
  • A tour of an area auto museum on Friday morning
  • Bus transportation to and from both days of activities
  • A special gift from the museum (an event polo only available to those on this trip)

Transportation to the actual event in Orange County is not included and will be the ticket holders’ responsibility.

Proceeds from the auction benefit the National Corvette Museum, which is a nonprofit foundation, and a portion of the proceeds will also be recognized as a tax-deductible donation to the museum (amount to be determined pending the final amount of the auction).

As of this posting, the bidding is almost at $7,500 and there are still four days to go until the auction ends. The bidding started at $100 on eBay.

This will be the first mid-engine Corvette from GM that, based off spy videos of the car, some suspect is a 6.2-liter V8 with over 450 horsepower, although we haven’t heard anything official yet.

This car has been in the making for quite some time, with years of rumors and spy shots. Corvette finally revealed an official release date months ago. Now, finally, fans will have the chance to see this highly-anticipated reveal in person. Check out the live auction here.
