Novitec has been working on the 812 Superfast for a while now. In January they presented a version with a new exhaust system, mild aerodynamic improvements and a new set of wheels and tires.
A few days ago, the German tuner unveiled a pumped-up version of the Ferrari – the 812 N-Largo. It’s got more wheel arch than you can handle, but first, let’s talk about performance.
Novitec performed an ECU remap of the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine. The tune extracts an additional 40 hp and 24 lb-ft of torque for a total of 840 hp and 554 lb-ft of torque. Novitec claims their car will go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 214 mph – an improvement of 0.1 seconds and 3mph.
Yeah, you won’t feel the difference, but you will most definitely hear it. The Novitec 812 N-Largo is incredibly loud. The new exhaust will take you back to the V12 years of Formula One.
The 812 N-Largo comes with an entirely new body kit. The car is now bolder and wider – 2.76 inches wider in the front and 5.5 inches wider in the back. The new panels feature overlapping elements creating a two-hull design which emphasizes really how much bigger Novitec made this car.
The front bumper is a variation of the one used on the F12 N-Largo-S. This one has a much a full-width carbon fiber splitter.
Where the original Ferrari 812 Superfast had a really smooth and flowing side profile, the Novitec 812 N-Largo features a number of chops, fins, and slats going all the way front to back. The new elements reinforce the diagonal lines of the original car and give it a really aggressive stance.
Novitec must have liked the new Corvette because the car is similarly massive and square in the back.
For reference, the inner surface of the vents on either side of the bumper was previously the outer most surface of the original car. That whole extra layer was added and connected to the massive full-width diffuser.
Another thing to note is the new rear wing. Just as the rear wheel arches curve down into more streamlined shape, small flaps raise the air flow and integrate it into the rear wing to increase the aerodynamic effect.
The car sits on a set of Novitec NF 10 NL wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires – 275/30R21 in the front and 335/25/R22 in the back. The massive wheels and concave design of the spokes play with your sense of depth, further complementing the widebody kit.
With Ferrari focusing more on twin-turbo V8 and hybrid technologies for their latest cars, the naturally aspirated V12 somewhat takes a back row seat. Thanks to Novitec, the 812 Superfast will enjoy a healthy increase in interest.
