The German tuning company Performmaster is celebrating 31 years of business. AMG is already taking Mercedes cars to the extreme and Performmaster have made a name for themselves going even further.
And what better way to celebrate a motorsports company’s birthday than a special edition, tricked out car?
Meet the Performmaster Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-door Coupe. Only 31 units will be produced, so by the time you read this article, they might be all gone already.
The “standard” Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine, producing 640hp and 664lb/ft of torque. That’s plenty of power to glue you into your seat on the Autobahn. Mercedes claims it’s the fastest four-seater production car on Nürburgring with a lap time of 7:25:41.
Well, don’t tell that to Performmaster. The tuning company is able to squeeze out an extra 101hp and 96lbs/ft of torque from the engine without any alterations. This is possible thanks to their proprietary PEC tuning module, which is developed specifically for Mercedes-AMG vehicles. It’s an electronic component which plugs into the ECU and modifies the settings to draw more power.
At the same time, the PEC tuning module comes with factory certifications and preserves all engine and transmission warranties. The module doesn’t tamper with the ECU and retains all engine protection features, as well as factory updates. It’s easily removable, returning the vehicle to stock condition.
Fully tuned, the Performmaster Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds – 0.3 seconds faster than the stock vehicle. Top speed remains the same 196mph.
The AMG also gets a subtle aero package, including a front splitter, rear diffuser, and slightly larger rear wing.
Inside, you’ll find the same luxury AMG interior as well as a “1 of 31” badge signifying the special edition.
We don’t know how much the car will cost yet, but a base Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-door starts at $160,000 so it won’t be cheap.
