The Porsche Taycan is one of the most anticipated cars of 2019.
Despite the ongoing speculation about price difference between the Taycan and Panamera, Porsche has remained quiet on official pricing. But an email from a Porsche Global Brand Ambassador (whose name has been redacted) to a potential customer has finally revealed the cost of the Taycan and names of its model variants.
Here are the email excerpts, “Good afternoon Alex. Porsche is going to build three models, the Taycan, Taycan 4S, and Taycan Turbo. Pricing will start in the low $90,000 for the Taycan, high $90,000 for the 4S, and over $130,000 for the Turbo before options.”

A lot of new information has come into the spotlight with this email. We can see that the rumors of the Taycan ($90,000 base price) costing less than the Panamera ($85,000) are no longer valid. And if you buy a car like this in a high tax state in California or New York expect that price to be even more.
It also seems that the base Taycan will be the only rear-wheel-drive, while the 4S and Turbo will most probably be all-wheel-drive. Using the name ‘Turbo’ for an electric car is strange as well but perhaps it is a way of telling customers which Taycan model is the fastest.
There is no official announcement from Porsche yet, so these pricing figures cannot be considered completely accurate. But at this price, the Taycan will be slightly costlier than the Tesla Model S 75D on the low end and at par with the P100D on the high end.
