Ruf Auto Unveils Modified 515 HP 911 GTS at the Geneva Motor Show

As a kind of 80th anniversary present to itself, Ruf Automobile in Germany has outdone themselves by building a 991 generation Porsche 911 GTS with over 500 horsepower. How’s that for an anniversary gift?

At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, Ruf Automobile unveiled the modified Porsche with a 3.0-liter engine, 515 horsepower, and 476 lb.-ft. of torque. Its transmission features Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch with seven speeds that makes shifting easier and replacement unnecessary.

Going from 0-62 in 3.4 seconds, Ruf modified the Porsche 911 GTS to include a new ducktail spoiler and Ruf exclusive rims. Ruf specifically altered the Porsche with aerodynamic features to safely launch this speed machine to a top speed of 199 mph. The sports car weighs in at 3,197 pounds.

How does this compare to the regular 911 GTS? Porsche’s consumer model features 450 horsepower and 405 lb.-ft. of torque. It needs about a second more to reach 60 mph and tops out at 192 mph.

Ruf Automobile is also taking this opportunity to launch its CTR Anniversary car, which is now available to customers. Although this car was featured two years ago at the Geneva Auto Show, it’s not yet been available to the public.

The CTR packs a powerful 710 horsepower, a flat-six engine, and weighs even less than the 911 at 2,640 pounds with a top speed of 223 mph. With its high speed and light weight, you’d think this vehicle would resemble more of a rocket than a car, but drivers note the ease with which the car handles yet provides an experience comparable to the original CTR.

Estonia Ruf, the marketing director at Ruf Automobile, says these two vehicles are meant to be the centerpiece of what makes Ruf so exceptional. “These two cars represent years of development, thousands of man hours and a lifetime of passion and enthusiasm,” she shared.

We can’t wait to see what Ruf has in store for us in the not-so-distant future.
