Not to be outdone by a mere Jeep, the folks at automaker Land Rover have come up with a new Land Rover Defender, reportedly with a more contemporary design than the 2016 Defender — which got axed. With an estimated base price of $60,000, the new Defender seeks to be more contemporary and hopes to prove off-roading can be luxurious. Details about the new Defender are few, but like many of the 2019 cars, we know there will be aluminum underpinnings to lighten the weight.
More details about the new Land Rover were released in the UK in September 2018. For instance, options will include a possible three-door model with a removable hard top, a three-door short-wheelbase option, and a five-door long wheelbase.
Expect more details to be leaked well before the Defender makes its official debut in late 2019.
