In Russia, You Can Be Fined For Having A Dirty Car
You would think that Russian roads would have much bigger issues to tackle than the dirt on the cars, but apparently, the local authorities disagree. Normally a dirty car is, from a legal standpoint at least, a car with license plates that are too dirty to be properly read. The Russians, however, took it one step further. It’s still not clear what the exact degrees of car cleanliness are and where exactly the line is crossed, not to mention how difficult it is to keep your car clean in areas where roads alternate from being frozen solid to being covered in mud. As you would expect, these obvious grey areas are abused by some policemen who are looking for some extra cash.
