Luxembourg Insists That Your Car Have Windshield Wipers

As a driver and a car owner, there are some things you just assume. You know that your car comes with certain features, you expect most of them to work, and you know that elements that need to work for a safe drive, like brakes or the car’s direction, are required by law to be checked regularly. In Luxemburg, however, they decided to take it a step further, by making the presence of windshield wipers attached to the car compulsory by law. It is, of course, true that having windshield wipers is vital to driving in certain windshield condition, but it’s so obvious that actually writing it into law makes it as weird as it is pointless.
