It was about time Hollywood gave us another proper racing story. 20th Century Fox just released the trailer for the new Ford v Ferrari movie.
The movie tells the story of the infamous rivalship between Ford and Ferrari in 1960s. Negotiations between the automakers for a major deal ended poorly and left both sides bitter.
Henry Ford II vowed to create a car so fast and so strong, it would win the most difficult endurance race in the world – the 24 Hours of Le Mans and dethrone Ferrari.
Ford went to the only man that can build them a winning car – Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon). And Shelby went to the only man that can drive it fast enough to win the race – Ken Miles (Christian Bale).
The movie trails the life of both men as they go against all odds to create and race the Ford GT40 in the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The rest is history.
Ford v Ferrari is directed by James Mangold who also made Logan and The Wolverine from the X-Men series.
