The latest version of the Bentley Bentayga is here—and it’s beat Lamborghini’s Urus top speed by just .5 mph.
The Bentley Bentayga Speed will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019 and, while available now for order, is expected to be released this summer for official sale.
The Speed is the performance model of Bentley’s Bentayga and tops out at 190 mph while the Urus falls just short at 189.5 mph. However, it’s important to note that the Urus gets to 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds while the Speed takes just a bit longer at 3.9 seconds.
The Bentley Bentayga Speed uses the same engine as the standard Bentayga but it’s been tuned to get more horsepower (about 626 ponies), but has the same 664 lb.-ft. of torque.
Compared to the standard version of the Bentayga, the Speed’s 0-62 time is .02 seconds faster while its top speed is just 3 mph faster.
The Speed received some updates on its driving modes to increase engine responsiveness as well as suspension for what Bentley hopes is a better driver experience. Pair this with a louder exhaust and some savvy design changes and the Speed is looking pretty sharp.
With darker headlights and air intakes to match, the Bentley Speed also comes on 22-inch wheels and a bulging tailgate spoiler. Interior changes include custom badging and stitching with Alcantara suede which hasn’t yet been available for the Bentayga. Buyers will also have the option to choose mood lighting on the inside (and with a car that fast, why wouldn’t you?).
We’re thinking the Bentley Bentayga Speed will tack on a bit of price hike considering its increased horsepower and speed, but no official numbers have been released yet.
