1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback from “Bullitt”
Bullitt is a suspenseful movie that has been recognized by the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress, as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” Not only do we love the movie for its plotline, but for the Highland Green Mustang Fastback. Only one of the two film cars made it through the film, and the whereabouts of the survivor was unknown for many years. That was until it was discovered in a junkyard by a collector, who ironically was looking for a car to modify as the cinematic Mustang from Gone in 60 Seconds. luckily he looked up the VIN and found out the true origins of the car, and has since restored it to its former glory. However, in 2019 Ford will be granting the wishes of thousands of Bullitt fans. They are releasing a 50th anniversary Bullitt Mustang in 2019, complete with 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 reaching a top speed of 163 mph (which is 8 mph faster than their current Mustang GT).
