1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Fastback A/S Race Car
This 1970 Mustang Boss 302 is an actual race car built for Trans Am.
It was a property of Paul J. Pettey, who used the car as a backup for his #45 1969 Ford Mustang, which participated in numerous events including, 24 Hours of Daytona, Sebring and Trans Am.
Although this particular Boss 302 has never been driven by Pettey in any of his races, the car is turn key ready to go on the track.
The vehicle was sold in 2005 and underwent rebuild and restoration at Conover Racing and Restorations, specializing in Trans-Am vehicles. The car was converted into a replica of the original Boss Mustangs produced by Bud Moore Engineering and a tribute to Bud Moore himself.
The Mustang goes with Ford’s Boss 302 engine – a 4.9-liter, V8 small-block, producing 290 hp and 290 lb/ft torque. Taking power to the wheels is a 4-speed manual transmission.
