A new street video of the mid-engine Corvette C8 was posted by a trucker who frequents the streets around the General Motors tech center. The driver caught up with the Chevrolet at a red light and managed to get a great shot of the exterior of the vehicle.
Sadly, most of the features were covered to prevent videos like these from spilling out the juicy details onto the web. The car has a good 6 months before Chevrolet unveils it to the public.
Even so, some features were impossible to miss. The four square exhausts sit beautifully on the two sides of the back bumper. The rear wing almost protrudes from the back of the car, rather than sitting firmly on top of the trunk.
Other than that, we don’t know much more about the C8 than we did when it was last spotted performing tests on the Nürburgring.
The much speculated engine is believed to come in three options:
- 6.2 Liter V8 producing 460 horsepower (343 kW) and 465 pound-feet (630 Newton-meters) – directly taken out of the current C7 model.
- 4.2 Liter, Twin-turbo V8 producing 650 hp (485 kW)
- 5.5 Liter, Twin-turbo V8 producing 850 hp (634 kW)
We’ll have to wait out a little longer to get any official specs. Until then, we can rely on spy videos like this one to feed us little bits of information and keep us excited about the upcoming launch.
We’ll leave you off with the video of the C8 shredding the Nürburgring.
