It’s been spotted: Porsche’s all-electric next-generation Taycan has shed its camo and is bearing its new front fascia to the world.
A Taycanforum.com member spotted the not-yet-revealed electric Porsche with some new headlights and extremely minimal camo.
Instead of the sleek design that Porsche typically incorporates into its vehicles, it appears that the German automaker has redesigned the front to give the car a bit of a—dare we say—more aggressive look.
The new front isn’t exactly in line with the body, but the headlights do create a distinct face that shows Porsche’s new styling that we weren’t able to see in previous spy shots of the new Taycan.
What’s unclear about the new design are the openings on the lower bumper, which viewers have noted look larger than expected for an electric car. Porsche enthusiasts aren’t sure if this is for cooling or aerodynamic purposes, or some other reason we don’t know about.
Porsche’s Taycan (pronounced “TIE-con”) has been highly anticipated in the auto world, especially since we’ve been hearing Porsche aims to beat the charging time of Tesla, which makes sense considering Porsche is investing heavily in a hybrid and all-electric lineup in the coming years.
Porsche has also said the first three years of charging will be free for the Taycan. Multiple versions of this vehicle including an SUV are anticipated, with the price ranging somewhere from $86,000 to $104,000, with no specific numbers yet.
When will we be able to see the all-electric Porsche Taycan in its final design? We’re thinking the Frankfurt Motor Show in a few months will fully reveal the Taycan in all its glory with an expected production for the 2020 model year.
