A628, England

A sleepy country byway, flanked by moss-covered stone walls belies the lethal nature of what’s been described as England’s most dangerous road. The A 628 connects Manchester with South Yorkshire in the north of England, passing through Peak District National Park. The road is favored by motorists and cyclists for its sweeping curves and lovely scenery, but the hidden entrances, blind bends, and generally above speed-limit driving contributed to 100 deaths in 10 years. Being that the road is so narrow, the majority of these collisions are head-to-head increasing the risk of death substantially.
