It’s Illegal To Run Out Of Fuel On The German Autobahn
Running out of fuel is never a pleasant experience, but at least if it happens within a city you know that help is always close by. If it happens on the highway, though, you find yourself stranded in the middle of nowhere, with cars flashing by you. Well, the Germans thought that this punishment isn’t enough and decided to also make it against the law. They do kind of have a point, though, their reasoning being that running out of fuel is a completely predictable occurrence that could easily be avoided. Fines are roughly between $35 and $80, so you’ll be much better off just using that money for gas before taking a drive on the Autobahn.
